    Questions? Answers!

Does 20 guests include my photographer? Yes, and your officiant. Our county regulations stipulate a 20 person limit so we do need to account for photographers, planners, and officiants. Vendors setting up and leaving do not count.

Does 1 or 2 hours include my set up and break down time? Yes. The 1 hour package is designed for couples who want a simple elopement experience without many set up and take down needs. A la carte decor items will be taken care of before you arrive.

What days and times are elopements available? 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset!

How far in advance do we need to book? Sometimes the nature of elopements is last minute! If you are flexible in the exact day or time we can usually accomodate you same week. If you need a specific date and time, we recommend inquiring at least 4 weeks in advance.

Can my furry friend attend? I’m sorry, no, not yet. We’d like to be able to offer this in the future, but have a few administrative details to iron out first.

Can we get in the creek for photos? No. There is a photo spot where you can step out onto some close rocks, but our sections of the Catoctin is home to snapping turtles, great blue herons, minks, muskrats, and many other sensitive flora and fauna. The creek is their home and we ask all visitors to keep both feet on dry land to protect them.

Can we decorate the Oak? No; with the following exceptions: a la carte draping and approved free standing florals and decor. Due to being a Lady of Great Age, the Oak can not have screws, nails, tacks, or anything that breaks her protective bark used as decoration.

Are there facilities or restrooms available? No. There are no structures on the property at all. Our packages are designed to be a Courthouse lawn alternative for your ceremony and photos; we are not set up for getting ready or receptions. You are welcome to rent a bathroom trailer if you desire.

Can we picnic after our ceremony? On a case by case basis; additional time and a bathroom trailer rental will be included for most cases.

Do you have a rain plan? We’re working on it! We can reschedule for inclement weather. We have a limited number of clear umbrella’s and are working on how and where to set up a small clear tent.
